About Us
Our Vision
Our desire is that every elderly person in our care is treasured as a valuable member of our community and that they are able to live comfortably in the last years of their lives at an affordable price.
Our Mission
We aim to create awareness and instil a shared passion in others for the elderly. This will aid in growing our community and providing the necessary means to cater for our elderly residents and new residents.
The PFRA Home
PFRA is a private, non-profit, home for the aged, it is over 100 years old and has been functioning as a registered NPO under a board of directors for many years and was inherited by NCF Church in 2001.
The home is situated at the top of Jabu Ndlovu Street (Loop Street) in a fitting, old, Maritzburg, brick face building, and has been called home by many elderly people over the years.
Our home has up to 18 residents at a time, many of whom have few or no relatives left in South Africa and are unable to afford a premium old age home. They pay a small fee and the home relies on public funding or sponsorships to cover additional costs.
Our Community
Being related to the church, many of our staff members, residents and volunteers are Christians who love the Lord and others. Our residents attend church as regularly as possible, and enjoy Bible studies together during the week.
As followers of Jesus we believe that community and serving one another are important and encourage other christians to get involved in this community should they feel compelled to.

Our residents are needy and frail and we believe that although they are often overlooked and sidelined- they are worthy of the kindness which we aim to consistently show them.
